If I'm that satisfied with a show, I'm not going to be in the fandom.
Same, really. I'll love the show with my entire heart but there won't be a need for fandom in it.

To be fair (?), I feel I have a lot of reasons to dislike the Guardian ending. It's definitely beyond a vague malaise at it being not quite right

And as for other fandoms - thinking about it in light of these discussions I've realized it's quite rare for me to even get an ending. I've spent a lot of time in video games (where you can get different endings and also the franchise goes on and so you get more content) and anime/manga fandoms where series go on forever, and either the ending hasn't happened yet (Saiyuuki, One Piece), or it has and I haven't seen/read it yet because I was out of fandom when it wrapped up. And in my fannish past a lot of Western shows weren't written to end - they wrapped seasons up on cliffhangers hoping it would help them get renewed.

And so my point kind of comes from having loved far more shows than I've seen proper endings for, and from not usually fanning on those things that have left me fully satisfied.

Guardian in particular left me with a broken heart and a broken world (the Dixing/Haixing separation HURTS) and that's one of the reasons I've bonded so much with fandom in addition to canon.
