I can't believe I didn't realise this before!) that the Dixing/Haixing separation can be seen as sort of a larger-scale mirror or metaphor of Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan being separated
How...how did I not see this, either? *mind blown*

I love canon divergence at any point in the timeline, and can never get enough of alternate versions of events or all kinds of potential futures
