Shen Wei is so pretty when he's in pain... I loved how this highlighted the weight Shen Wei has to carry, with his long-existing feelings for Zhao Yunlan, which have already ended in heartbreak once.

Yes!! I feel like though Shen Wei would never overtly admit--maybe even to himself--being angry about all that weight and how trapped he's been by it, for SO long, that's gotta be there, repressed underneath, and somehow Lana Del Rey just offered the perfect narration of those feelings he'll never admit.

Yes, it's me! How lovely to see a familiar face! I've been showing iesika episodes of Guardian every night I can manage it, but so far she's not convinced (we only just finished episode 3, though, so give it time!)

The repression and the depth of pain and love and the perfect, toxic, beautiful mix of the two just underneath the surface, spilling over in touches and looks and fleeting micro expressions... You've captured it beautifully here, I was literally just clutching at my poor heart through this. Bravo.

Thank you!! Yes, repression and pain & love mixed, all in those potent micro-expressions... that's exactly it!! That's (part of) why ZYL is so amazing--he communicates so many contradictory emotions through those microexpressions, it's really just stunning (and vidder gold!) :)

I know, seriously! I mean, I know that time travel stories are always a bit messed up this way but... I just feel like he should've been more aware of the thousands of years of impact he was necessarily going to have!!
