Guardian screencaps
Hi. :)
It's my first time posting here, so please let me know if I need to change/fix anything.
I don't if anyone's interested in screencaps, but I've capped the series frame-by-frame (no subtitling) in HQ PNG files from Solo's episodes. I'm looking for a vast image upload site, possibly SmugMug, and would post a folder of around 7,000-18,000 caps per episode upon request.
Samples are here: https://kernezeldayahoo.smugmug.com/Samples/n-v8GT38/

I have no idea what kind of photo archive site could handle that much volume. I suspect there are none that will do it for free. What's the total GB of the project, or the average GB per folder? There might be other options, even if they're less suited to displaying individual photos.

I have uploaded Episode 1 to different sites to see how their process works, but if I can download textless eps, I will use those instead for screencapping and delete all of these. I was doing it mainly because I figured out how, and thought, why not? The total volume of the current set is 605 GB, give or take. :) An option I've also considered is uploading zip files of episode caps, so someone could just download the whole thing, take what they want without having to wade through thousands of files on a website.

They seem to be a fairly new development; the ones I watched not long ago from that site definitely had Chinese hardsubs.
Whew, that's a lot of GB. Hmmmm. Solo mentioned in that link above that they're paying for megaupload, and I notice the cheapest plan has a full TB of space available. AFAIK the full Guardian downloads only take up about 100 GB, so Solo may have space leftover (or they may be using it for something else, IDK). Might be worth talking to them and seeing if you can put up zip folders on that site, at least.
No matter what, it's a pretty awesome contribution to the comm you're making. I can imagine the icon makers are going to go nuts with them! XD

So far, I've uploaded to Smugmug and Dropbox on a spare PC at work; my computer at home is much too slow to upload anything big without bogging down completely. I like Smugmug's layout, and it seems pretty simple, with a reasonable monthly fee. I need to compare its pricing to Dropbox, and I may check out Megaupload, shaking free of years of accreted wariness.
And thank you, I like being able to participate in a fandom, and if I'm not writing, then some other way can be found to contribute. It's been years since I heavily capped or made icons, so it feels good. :)

This fandom seems small but still quite active, and very warm and welcoming! I just joined recently myself! :)
