you have to put on oven mitts to pet it because it will definitely try to eat your hand, but if you can just snuggle it *enough*, then maybe-
OMG yes!!! He triggers my "aww" instincts; I want to pat his head and feed him. The food might go down well enough, if dropped a safe enough distance away, but patting would require chainmail and oven mitts.

Me too! I spent the last handful of episodes so conflicted because I still want him to have nice things augh. He just needs a wake-up call a lot sooner!

Uhh I was thinking more "here is a selection of takeaway, please pick your favorites"; eating people is unethical and he should be weaned off that. Is it cannibalism if he eats a Haixingian?

I really only had my Ye Zun awakening at the point where he yells at Zhao Yunlan, unmasked, that no-one's ever asked him why he's doing what he's doing. Poor thing, someone have a nice chat with him. Maybe Zhao Yunlan can be bored and spend a lot more time dissecting his captive audience back when he meets Ye Zun when he's still in his pillar? But really, I'd take any redemption arc for him.
