Guardian drama alternate ending - explanation and speculation!

Just posted some meta about the unaired alternate ending to the Guardian drama (including a link to the unaired footage on Tumblr). Most of it is pure speculation on my part about what could've been changed to go from the alternative to the ending we got; I've got no proof for any of it, but it's interesting to contemplate.
