re: freeze thing, it is 100% zhu jiu meddling - he's trapping shen wei in compromising situations where he is likely to be discovered by SID as having powers. he also taunts him at one point about revealing his identity as BCE to zhao yunlan, so it's all pretty straightforward.

i love that the interrogation scene shows just how easily shen wei controls the conversation, in different ways for different interrogators, and basically dismisses them until he can speak to the only person whose opinion matters to him :D
