I think it's because of how directly related it is to novel!SW's origins - sometimes it's just understandable that he's hostile and smug about having all this power over people who would like nothing better than to continue mistreating him. This is not drama!SW's trauma at all.

Yes, exactly - they're so different in that way, you couldn't get this scene in the drama. It's more amazing how many things they were able to directly translate!
