It's really funny to me somehow that something that's been standard here all my life seems sci-fi to you.

(I used to think the thing where people on TV could just walk inside strangers' houses or flats without a key was a TV convention for convenience because it should be physically impossible! Eventually I did learned otherwise, but it still takes me a moment to remember. *g*)
