Hee! Congrats on rereading before reveals! I won't get there with my own comment, but soon, hopefully. At least I got to the comments! *g*

Thank you for the fic rec! I'm not into Shen Wei as a masochist, but that sounds fascinating.
the fact that Shen Wei isn't undoing harm that he caused himself. Because the drama went 'being inherently harmful to each other in any way is just not gonna happen', and I'm 100% here for it. :D
Yes, so so glad that isn't a thing in the drama!
First: *casually sets Zhao Yunlan's father on fire yet again*
Is it a saying? Someone must have been really sleep-deprived when they came up with it
If it's not, it should be! Over here we definitely talk about a similar concept, but we don't have a pithy idiom for it.
I went feral about this line for a moment there, on my first read. xD (And I had literally never been interested in mpreg before. :D)
LOL! So weird how these things can strike you. *g*
Wow, it's volume 3 already, and it's still only been a few days since the beginning of volume 2.
Wow, you're right, such a short time frame!
And her grip that can break a phone is really cool too!
That made me think of drama!Zhu Hong cracking her knuckles at Lin Jing. How strong is she, in the drama? I wonder!
How does he know?
Ha, I was wondering that too.
I have no idea if he's actually telling the truth (probably not), but if he is, I really like this.
Agreed, it's a really good point, showing how much he does care about her feelings, not just her wellbeing.
I sleep alone and I've always done that, to avoid waking me. :P
Haha, that makes sense if you get a lot of notifications. I don't use my phone much, so all it does at night is serve as an alarm clock. *g*
Possibly my favorite line from the kitchen scene.
Yes! That is such a lovely moment.
I am so impressed with how fully and thoroughly the drama recontextualized this quote - I think there's literally nothing left from the original (not the time, not the place, not the tone, not the meaning, not a single detail?), and yet they still successfully took it and ran with it. :D
YES! And it's one of my favourite lines from the drama, too. Amazing to see where it came from, and how entirely it was transformed, and how well each version fits in its context!
“May the pieces bring peace.” This makes a really cool pun in English, and makes me curious what it was translated from - if anyone feels like checking, thank you! :D
It's 碎碎平安 suìsuì píng'ān, which seems to be an idiom for when you break things, and itself a pun on 岁岁平安 "peace year after year", a New Year's greeting. They're pronounced identically, but the first substitutes 碎 "broken, shattered" for 岁 "year, age". The translator did a great job with an untranslatable thing!
Yeah, not expecting other people clean up your mess is kinda the bare minimum, but I like that he admits that he fucked up, before anyone even called him out on that.
Yeah, I will admit that actually surprised me! I don't think he'd have done that at the beginning of the novel.
And Zhao Yunlan miserably cuddling the coat, aw.
Yes! ♥ ♥ ♥
As much as I wish they would just talk about it instead, this is SO SOFT.
Seriously! I really liked that bit.
He could have kept that. :P /shallow :D
No argument from me! :p
“The original plan was to take the train and go check out the black dog and the corpse with Lin Jing today.”
Oooh, I forgot that she was this close to ending up there too. (I don't think it's important per se, just interesting in light of future events.)
"You’d be kneeling on a motherboard and writing a ten-thousand-word apology letter, not here feeding me your crap."
I am so confused, what does kneeling on a motherboard mean? :P
I was wondering the same! I hope someone has an explanation, or more luck googling than me.
I was like 'wait what, he literally only ever acts rashly', lol, but maybe that's the point? That some things just are worth more consideration, even to him?
And that in some ways he is growing up! Character development. :D
I really, really like that when this happens in the drama, they're separated not because they had a fight.
Ooh, yes, I hadn't thought to put those things together, but you're totally right!
