Like, he found his place in the world, but he's always suspected that it's not really his place and he doesn't deserve it, and now he's being proven right? OUCH.
OUCH indeed, yeah. Poor Xiao-Guo!
I just adore the whole part where he just gushes about how much he loves every single person at the SID.
Yeah, I loved that list, it's great!
He would never, ever hurt someone he promised to protect, that's the bare minimum, that's the core of who he is. ♡
Yes! And he knows that about himself, it's so foundational even "well, I was a god back then" doesn't make him question that certainty. He can envision no version of himself, no matter how out there, for whom that wouldn't be true. ♥ ♥ ♥
Now I suddenly saw this line not as 'I'm a freak hybrid who doesn't belong anywhere' but as 'there's no place for the gui and you gave me one'! Because it says "between the earth and the sky". And the place for him was below the earth.
Aw, I like that reading!
How exactly? Some specific way to sacrifice his body? Because he's died countless times and that didn't break him out out the reincarnation cycle.
That's a very good question, I didn't even think of that, but now I'm wondering too!
Okay, idk what he actually started to say though? That he almost threw himself at Zhao Yunlan's past reincarnations? xD
That he almost interfered and went after or chased off whoever past!ZYL was with? (He wouldn't - he didn't - but that's the sort of thing he always thinks he's closer to doing than he actually is ...)
This is where his ~skills~ with the bomb came from in the drama, isn't it. :D :D
Oh, LOL! Great catch, that would make sense!
These are literally canon lines but I still feel like they're not true?
I think it's true insofar as he cares deeply about not showing evidence of his monstrous nature in front of ZYL, in a way he doesn't about other people. He's still hiding it, it still matters to him, but he doesn't care about other people's judgment or good opinion the way he does ZYL's, so the stakes aren't the same, and he's a lot more tightly wound around ZYL as a consequence.
Poor Shen Wei, indeed.
In a book with all the supernatural stuff, this is the most unrealistic detail to me. xD
LOL! Mostly I'm wondering what supernatural shenanigans are keeping this phone working for so long!
Huh, why? Because he's scary or because he's hot? xD Or something else entirely, like, she's somehow related to what is happening?
So glad I'm not the only one who was confused by that!
His entire VIBE, 'idgaf, I'm not involved', it's amazing.
Right? I didn't comment on it because I honestly have no clue what's actually going on with SW at the moment, so I couldn't fully enjoy it, but honestly it's great. No matter what he's up to, he's such a troll - humming, flipping through a magazine, OMG, SW! I love that for him. :D
And this is the 'ceremony' with Ye Zun in the drama? :D :D
Not really seeing the connection? Gulping down alcohol is a pretty different vibe.
