I'm so with both of you for the search engine frustration! At this point, unless you're looking for something very obvious it's often not even worth trying any more, and that's so depressing.

I feel like at this point the EU, or some other group of world governments, should fund a functional search engine for the public good. Having such fundamental infrastructure in corporate hands is obviously Not Working.

That's a fantastic idea! I wonder if it's been proposed? If not, it really should be!
