He has plenty of people he can talk to about work (including his partner, now), and a lot of people have confidential work stuff.

Yeah, but it's a lot more fundamental than confidential work stuff - it's the basics of how their world works, who and what is alive in it, what wonders and dangers are about. It draws such a line between the people who know and the people who don't, and I don't like that at all.
