It was just so random that they go 'idk, probably psychological' and then in the next chapter he has medicine and bandages from the hospital. xD

The bandages are particularly weird. Maybe he asked for them? :D

If you mean something else, there's a big chance that I have no idea

I think I was wondering about Shen Wei's ability to register Merits at all, even if they don't stick -- but who knows? Yesterday brain was yesterday brain. ;-)

I actually hope the re-read will help me figure things out better. :P Mostly because the first big reveal turns out to be a lie, and I didn't really register which parts were true in the end, so a lot of the primordial past stuff, especially about the gui, is still unclear to me.

LOL, I know, I'm super confused about it all. (I'm actually kind of dreading to get to that part, because I already don't care very much about the mythology, and there's so much of it, and so many versions, and I can't keep it straight.) I appreciate that they turned the "multiple versions of a thing, with confusing repetitions" part into CSZ's dream sequence in the drama, so making sense of it wasn't critical to understanding the Weilan storyline. ;-p

I guess so, but there's nothing in that quote about Zhu Hong speaking at all.

Oh, true. Doh! Maybe her breath went ragged. *pets her*

The LAYERS and AMOUNTS of total lack of emotional awarness are just so much fun here. :D

Hee! :D :D :D

Oh damn, I only went 'aw, this is such a nice thing to do for your employee without being asked', but of course it's also another thing that gives Zhu Hong hope.

Yeah, exactly. I was thinking about that bottle of spirits he gives her in the mountains to warm up, too:

He threw her a small bottle. Zhu Hong found herself holding a bottle of yellow rice wine. It had very low alcohol content and was ideal for warming someone up. It was also produced in Jiangnan and therefore hard to find in the great northwest. Zhao Yunlan had obviously packed it as part of his original preparations, and its small size clearly indicated who it was intended for.

What is she supposed to think??

Oh, I was just doing conjecture re: how much was planned by the person who wanted ZYL to see this book - just seeing (and using) the book, or also seeing that the book had a missing page? I don't have an answer and don't remember all that much about it later

Ah, sorry. I thought you were forming/discovering a theory. :D

Ooooh, something like a final image burned into a camera?? I'm so curious about this entire concept now. :D Like, can anyone else see it, or just some people, or just other yao? (I guess it didn't come up with Shen Wei or Daqing because they knew what happened, they didn't have to look.) Or maybe it's a specific way of harming someone that the Crows are known to do?

Oh no, this is ringing faint bells for me now. I'm sure I've seen something like this in... some media, somewhere. Dammit! Like, yeah, the shadow of the attacker being burned into a person's retinas or something. *racks brains*

It just must be funny to the yao (at least the ones that didn't see him carrying the heavy-ass box) that this seemingly ordinary human pulls the powerful Guardian to hide behind him. :D

Oh, right, yes! Hee! :D :D :D
