Heeee, what else do you do with a wayward Zhao Yunlan. xD :D And just like a cat (or maybe a puppy - some cats would be pissed) he's excited about it and goes 'do it again'. xD
"The life “suddenly burst[ing] into existence” in Shen Wei. *sob*"
IKR. ♡♡♡ *sobs too* Such a gorgeous way to show happiness and peace and contentment.
"Sang Zan deserves so much better. Maybe I would be more lenient if making fun of non-native speakers wasn’t a whole Thing in multiple Priest novels, but with the way it is, it rubs me the wrong way."
I can definitely see how it's a problem in the larger context. I can forgive Daqing in-world just because he was genuinely distracted with other things and he's an asshole to everyone, but it's not that easy to forgive the narrative itself. *pokes it*
"Yes."
Hah! *feels validated* I just want to look Shen Wei in the eye and ask him "honestly, how did you not expect this??" xD
"I really like the idea of something as precious and powerful as a soul in a pendant. But the wrapper is such a great detail precisely because it has no inherent value, instead gaining value through what it represents to Shen Wei. What a hard question! I’m torn."
I think liking both of them equally is the best of both worlds - no need to choose just one! :D I do love the fact that Shen Wei gave all the value and meaning to the wrapper, ITA! Like, it was discarded before he picked it up, and it really didn't need to be kept safe at all, by anyone, and he just wanted to do that. ♡♡♡
