I think it's part of their general complete absence of boundaries with each other (in this case, ZYL publicly claiming SW) -- it just pings us differently because there are potential social consequences. Right? But idk, thinking about it in the context of SW literally biting his own wrist open the night before, maybe ZYL is just "I'm going to be cheerful and open and normal about this SO HARD that SW has to give in and be normal about it too"? ETA: And if that's the case, then it maps nicely onto the singing-in-the-car scene... ijs.
