I hope you don't mind me cutting in - I saw both Spartacus and Black Sails (and loved both of them) and violence in Black Sails is much more realistic. And that one subplot with sexual violence in the 1st season is hard too watch. I knew about it through fannish osmosis before I watched it, so I was prepared, but still I fast-forwarded through a few scenes.
