I keep comparing Xiao Shiyilang to Ye Kai from Border Town Prodigal, who's a somewhat similar archetype, and he falls so very short. Ye Kai is fun and charismatic and a delight to watch, and he's the perfect counterpart to Fu Hongxue's angstfest. But Xiao Shiyilang is just ... meh all around.

(Yeah, XXSYL isn't exactly a good show! I wouldn't watch if it weren't for Zhu Yilong either.)
