trobadora suggested I post this here for those who might be interested in some Guardian merch! The fanartist who drew the Weilan Kitties is selling dolls of her art, and they're adorable.





It's up for pre-orders right now on Tao Bao until April 2nd, and the artist anticipates them shipping out by July at the latest. (I don't think there'll be a non-pre-order period, so if you're at all interested, you should buy them before that point.)

How exactly do I go about ordering these? Do I need to find a friend who can read Chinese?

So there's two ways. If you can google translate or use an extension like ZhongWen to order it yourself, then you can place the order directly. For overseas orders, what will happen is Taobao will ship it to their warehouse, and then once it arrives, you pay a second shipping fee to ship it to your location.

I can try to help you out too if you want to DM me with screenshots, either here or through Discord.

If you're not confident of that, you can use a Taobao agent. But I'm not too familiar with how they do things with pre-orders like these. You can probably call or ask a taobao agent that ships to you about how they do these.

I haven't! Link the actor plushies? A friend of mine did recently see plushies of them in their happy camp outfits but it's sold on a site that doesn't do international orders. Sadness!

Ah, interesting, I should keep an eye out on eBay for these things. It never occurred to me to check there! The best prices are probably from buying directly on Taobao, but maybe I'll find some limited quantity dolls that I missed out on in eBay.

The artist says finished Shen Wei sample will be some time mid-March hopefully. I can come back and message you when it's up! In the meantime, have a model for the Da Qing head! It will look similar to this except with Da Qing's face/expression.

The friggin' Jin x Gudetama plushie was so expensive is was easier to be firm and not give in (at least for me).
methink, if nobodies takes the extra steps to crack the account registration and payment/shipping procedures than we are safe LOL #donotengage #eplusisstillgivingnightmares

Yeah, buying direct will definitely be most cost effective, but at least with eBay it is readily accessible for those of us in the western hemisphere.

I have found that shipping all the way from China to the Caribbean (where I live) is hit and miss, but at least it's more hits than misses. Fingers crossed that the candy wrapper necklace I ordered reaches me safely. :)
