At the risk of being super nit-picky (lol, that ship has long since sailed), I'm not sure he was ever afraid of Chu Shuzhi?
No, you're right, when he was super afraid while trailing after Chu Shuzhi at the start, it wasn't Chu Shuzhi he was afraid of, just everything else. *g*
(I think there are a lot of similarities in those relationships, actually, though also a lot of points of difference.)
Oh, I'd love to hear more of your thoughts about that!
It's unclear to me how sincerely Ye Zun tried to kill Changcheng, because of [next episode stuff]. He hasn't turned him into a sleeper agent yet, so it might actually be genuine attempted murder.
I think if he'd genuinely intended to kill him he'd just have eaten him. And even if not, he's so overpowered, I can't see him fail at hitting hard enough to kill, so to speak.
Given the Nightmare Guy's goal is to shut down the security barrier, I wonder how much Zhao Yunlan's presence in the dream interfered with whatever direction he was going to take it in. The fact that ZYL jumped into the middle of it did, inevitably, make it all about Zhu Hong's feelings for him, rather than anything more easily manipulatable.
I think it was always going to be about her feelings for him, given that it starts (before real!ZYL turns up) with a scene of her literally falling into Zhao Yunlan's arms, but that's a good point about real!ZYL derailing the dream entirely! Can't have fake ZYL manipulating her when real ZYL is right there. *g*
(Your iiiiicon!)
It properly belongs to next episode, but it's such a good angsty Lao-Chu icon! :D
