Yeah! And Zhao Yunlan is disregarding that he himself had disappeared into Zhu Hong's dream, leaving Lao-Chu feeling responsible for both of them. And when he couldn't go after them himself (because people were trying to shut down the SID!), he did the next best thing – send Guo Changcheng with as much protection as he could provide.

I suspect Zhao Yunlan thinks Chu Shuzhi should have trusted him to handle it.

And I always loved that "happy ending in Dixing" is a thing he dreams about. ♥

Yes! Especially since he's one of the few Dixingren permitted to live in Haixing legally. He doesn't have to hide or scrape to live, but still, home is home.

I think he came back to report and sat down (because of how unsteady on his feet he is later in this scene), and then dozed off for a moment, allowing the Nightmare Master to give him a bit of a fake-flashback dream.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. It seems to have been edited for maximum confusion, though.

I wonder if this is a case like with Shen Wei, where the Regent might have hoped that the Envoy could do something about Ye Zun but wasn't willing to personally step in to help him? So here he might be passing on Ye Zun's messages and not doing anything that might get Ye Zun upset with him, but he's also hoping the SID can do something that might improve the situation? Idk, I can't get a handle on him here.

Maybe -- but he's clearly taking some pleasure in tormenting Chu Shuzhi, too, which seems counterproductive?
