Here is my utterly shallow opinion of this episode: I'm delighted you screencapped Ya Qing holding Zhu Hong against a tree, because it's hot and great inspiration. :3
Regarding 'Record of the Ancient Secrets", I can never make sense of what the quotes from the book are supposed to tell us about the Hallows. Do you think there's a deeper meaning? Did "Kunlun" really say these words? And if so, was he just quoting what he remembered from this book, himself sound impressive without quite understanding it himself? *g*
My thing with Kunlun and the quotes about him is that I can never tell if there's supposed to actually be a historical Kunlun who died on the way to the fight and then Zhao Yunlan fills that narrative gap. Perhaps a real Kunlun did say those quotes! Perhaps someone made them up and attributed them to Kunlun, since they sounded like something he should say! Perhaps Zhao Yunlan parroted himself! All of these are equally likely.
