What a neat post, thank you! I love this scene partly because the sense of exhausted coming-down-after-adrenaline feels so realistic--the immediate emergency is over but there's still a lot to deal with, and the team is trying to get back on their feet mentally/emotionally so as to be ready to cope. Also, the fact that they’re coming together to one, discuss their next steps to winning (sob) but also taking the time to try and help Guo Changcheng understand/better cope with how everything has been playing out. Yes! It also interests me that you see both CSZ and GCC changing--Chu Shuzhi is not only fond of Xiao Guo now but willing to show it in public, while Guo Changcheng is starting to work out the more complex parts of their duties. Finally, I find this situation mirrored closely to Hei Pao Shi placing Chu Shuzhi in the midst of the SID, but this situation seemed to hit Zhao Yunlan as worse. Why do you think it hit harder with Lin Jing versus Chu Shuzhi? Oh, interesting parallel! I feel like it's never really been a big secret that Chu Shuzhi is Hei Pao Shi's man--that as the one Dixingren in the SID, he'd be likely to be loyal to Hei Pao Shi, whether or not actually reporting to him. Also, HPS is working in accordance with the SID (in a sense), while Professor Ouyang's goals very much do not match theirs. I love Chu Shuzhi and Guo Changcheng. I just love them <3 <3 <3
