Yuletide nominations

Is anyone nominating Guardian or Guardian-adjacent things for Yuletide? The drama is over the limit now, but the novel and RPF are still eligible, not to mention Zhu Yilong's and Bai Yu's other roles, and I thought we might want to coordinate.

Yuletide nominations are under way here.

I've nominated two related canons myself:

• 绅探 | Detective L (TV) (characters: Luo Fei, Huo Wensi)


• L'Oréal "Time Engraver" Commercials (character: The Time Engraver)

And I have a Time Engraver promo post here, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet and has five minutes to spare. I promise it's worth it! *g*

I'd 100% be willing to coordinate, although I've only ever participated in Yuletide after noms have gone through. Is it that only 1 person needs to nominate a fandom/character and it's in? So we should coordinate to have people spread out their noms?

Yes, every fandom and character needs to be nominated by someone to get in, but for Yuletide, each person is only allowed three fandom nominations (with four characters max for each). Since you can request up to 6 fandoms, people often coordinate to make sure their fandoms/characters get in.

Zhen Hun novel characters I'd be interested in: ZYL, CSZ, SW, Gui Mian, Shen San, Kunlun.... why are there only 4 char slots.

Huh, that's weird! I wonder why they haven't canonised him. At least it shouldn't matter for Yuletide!

I'm pretty much brand new to this fandom and am just reading the novel now, but I was hoping someone would nominate it for Yuletide. :D It might be good to add your nominations to the main YT coordination post so other people will know about them! Or I could add them for you, if you want. :) That way other people will know they don't need to use one of their nomination slots for it, or can just add whatever other characters they want included.

The first Guardian fic I ever wrote was a Yuletide pinch hit. It's sad that we can't nominate it again this year, but having more fic is a good reason to be disqualified. :) I had considered nominating Detective L myself, I'm about halfway through that one and loving it so far.

Glad you're enjoying Detective L - I love it a lot; it's honestly my second favourite cdrama after Guardian. And I particularly adore Luo Fei. :D

(I'm considering changing the last character's name to Explorer but I fear that might be too close to the second character, who I also think of as an explorer. Anyone, thoughts?)
now that i'm typing this, i've realized i should've dubbed the "prince" commercial "garden" to keep with the "name after place" convention but oh well, the individual names don't matter

I'll also make a promo post for these on my journal. Perhaps tomorrow or when the mods reply to my comment on the evidence post.

ETA: About your character naming question, I think you should keep the "tomb" in there - "tomb explorer" would work? But yeah, just "explorer" isn't really clear on which character it is.
