A/N: Many thanks to laireshi for cheerleading and hand-holding! I really did not think this would be my first fic in this fandom but the WIPs keep getting longer so here we are.

Also, this fic is set in an imaginary piece of time that occurs after the Alliance steals the Hallows and Zhao Yunlan talks about leaving but before they're attacked by Ye Zun because I wanted Shen Wei to get to have a bit of a conversation too. So now there's at least a day inserted into that ... four minute period. This fic also assumes that Zhao Yunlan has spent at minimum a few months in the past.

Summary: Someday, Zhao Yunlan will go home to a world with motorcycles and mobile phones and a Shen Wei who folds secrets into his heart like paper cranes. He’s known that from the start.
