In the novel She Who Became the Sun, the phrase "ten thousand years" came up several times, too, and I just checked wikipedia, which says it's a common saying in various east Asian languages to wish long life (historically to the emperor, but now more generally). So it might not, in itself, seem particularly suspicious to YOHE!Shen Wei? It might just seem like a figure of speech? I think the "you've already repaid it" is more telling...
