As trobadora said, Da Qing's deputy chief because of seniority, but here my beef was that Lin Jing was left in charge of Sha Ya and none of Zhu Hong, Da Qing, Wang Zheng, or Sang Zan apparently tried to stop him from bringing her out. Which is ... well. It's Lin Jing's girlfriend, of course there's a risk he'd do something stupid and they'd be better off sidestepping that by putting someone else in charge of her.
