This has so much great Sha Ya stuff! Her throwing away the phone on the roof is such a badass moment.
A thing that totally cracks me up in the interrogation scene is Lin Jing randomly reading out news about land developments. That's always totally top of my news ticker, especially when I talk to my was-just-arrested crush!
"No, I swear they only stuffed me in here because my altruism made them all look bad! Honest!"
I really think you should apply to run Ye Zun's PR department! It would help him a lot. *G*
I know it's a bit pointless to complain about the budget at this point, but, seriously, they could not have borrowed some work clothes somewhere for those deforestation workmen? All these workers in the park are in "bring our own random t-shirt" outfits!
Wang Xiangyang wanted to do some Envoy cosplaying to make this look more legitimate and dramatic, but he couldn't make his papier-mâché polearm look like anything but a sad metaphor for his life so far.
LOL! Ouch.
The proposal scene in the phone booth is really very cute, and the actress for Wang Xiangyang's wife is selling it really well. The merit brush arc really isn't my favourite, but this was a nice reminder of ouch, IMO.
My heart really breaks for Zhao Yunlan in this one. Despite his relationship with his dad being so terrible, he can't help freaking the fuck out; he's really losing it in the SID there. I love that Shen Wei talks him down by appealing to his sense of responsibility (and how clear it is that nobody but Shen Wei is going to jump in to talk him down). Though the crips little *pat, pat* Shen Wei does at the start just after they got the news always strikes me as... in a slightly different emotional register. Like he hasn't quite found his "talking Zhao Yunlan down" groove yet.
Shen Wei calling Zhao Yunlan an idiot (out loud, not just in his head!) while staring at him worried-fondly kind of gives me life. *g* Especially followed by the exasperated eyeroll to end all exasperated eyerolls.
Taiwan has 28 million people and about 4k people with the surname 华. Assuming a similar density of people with that surname in Dragon City and that all of them are called 华玉柱, we get a population of 826k for Dragon City. Now, since there must be people with the surname 华 who are not called 华玉柱, Dragon City is most likely a city with over a million inhabitants
Oooh, nice catch & extrapolation!
The face of a man who wishes Zhao Yunlan would fondle him in lieu of the Hallows

But how dangerous is he, comparatively? ^_^
