Yeah, kind of. I mean, I'm assuming that what he did could never just be about 'make Zhao Yunlan see again' because then the ongoing damage from the Holy Tools/dark energy could simply make him blind again at the next exposure. Shen Wei had to be fixing the cause, not just a random symptom.

To that extent, he might not even be overstepping his mandate - though I have no problem if he did.

But anyway, so maybe 'tamed' isn't right, but he did something with that dark energy that it couldn't harm ZYL anymore but it's still *there*, so maybe what happened in the personality change ep is just a benefit, or it came from an extra tweak.
