Ooh, I had never thought of that long pause after "fortunately" that way before, that's a really good point! That makes Shen Wei seem slightly less bonkers for thinking he was about to say something comforting. But if Shen Wei is slowly realizing that there's more wrong with him than he thought in this scene, that's...a different shade of heartbreaking, but no less so.
