The thing that's still puzzling me about the kitchen scene, despite having just rewatched it, is what Shen Wei's actually trying to accomplish by cutting himself there. He talks about exchanging all the energy in his body, so...is he literally just...venting dark energy somehow? To make room for Haixing energy somehow?

At this point, it seems like if he was trying to do a full internal reset of his energy (which is what he seems to be trying to convey to ZYL, regardless of whether he's already thinking in terms of what winds up coming to pass in the story), he'd be venting/purging the alien-to-him energy, not what looks to be his own dark energy.
