Western tropes beyond the Great Firewall

In her post of her favorite Guardian vids, bonibaru mentions

Be careful if you find yourself wandering around bilibili because you might end up falling down a rabbit hole of a/b/o and sentinel AUs that are ... just ... I don't even know but some of them are pretty darn good.

I really want to know more about this! My incompetent searches have revealed things like this:

which seems to be some sort of multi-trope collision involving ABO, Sentinels (??) and possibly His Dark Materials-type daemons.

What is ABO when it's in China? I see from fanlore that it's become super-popular in Asian fandoms, which frankly boggles the mind even more than the mere existence of ABO.

What are Sentinel AUs called in China and Japan? How did they get there?

It's easy to see how daemons could have made it into non-Western fandoms, because there's *movies*. But for Sentinel, as with ABO, I'd suspect direct fandom-to-fandom transmission.
