The ammonia was an example of something that is just as patently false as people's claims, but not something people have actually said. Sorry for the confusion! The more common "plot holes" are "But what did Shen Wei do during the 10k year timeskip???" (The show tells us! He was asleep for well over 99% of it.) and "But novel thing X, which is a conseqence of things A and B, clashes with show thing X!" (The show changed things A and B. Please, try to watch the show on its own merits.)
