I'm not an arguer, but I also come down on the side of Dixingren NOT working like the creatures in the novel. E.g. if they had markedly low body temperatures, they'd be really easy to identify!

(Also, Shen Wei very probably has a bed like normal humans do.)
This one I'd come to on my own, because I have a strong urge to map out important locations and their contents in my head. At the very least, if his bedroom was just barren with paintings of Kunlun, Zhao Yunlan would have had a lot to say about that.
